LUCKES brings an enormous amount of experience into hard techno, but experience alone is not what makes his work interesting. What stands out is his understanding that a banger does not need to rely on the simplest formulas available.

Maximum BPM and maximum distortion are tools, not requirements. Across a large catalogue, LUCKES has produced tracks with very different energies while maintaining the ability to make them work where it ultimately matters: on a dancefloor. His remix of RØY’s “Work That Bass” brought that knowledge into HTV. LUCKES understands how many different routes can lead to an effective record. That range is something years of writing, testing and refining music can teach, and it gives his productions a depth that extends well beyond one particular era of hard techno.
