DREY

DREY has become one of the reference points of Spain’s new generation of hard techno and schranz. He understands the fundamentals of the genre well enough to be versatile with them: groove, old-school pressure, melody, high-speed tools and more experimental ideas can all exist inside his catalogue without losing the thread.

That same understanding appears in his work behind Systolic. Since taking on a label-management role, DREY has shown another strength entirely: curation. The ability to identify artists, understand what makes their music work and place different voices inside a coherent label is a skill of its own. “Gargantua’s Fury” put him on HTV’s first release, and having that track there now feels increasingly significant. DREY understands this music as producer, DJ and curator. He knows how far it can still be pushed.
